Meet the Creators Behind the 2nd edition of TUM TUM: Encarnar el poder
The second edition of TUM TUM: Encarnar el poder brings together diverse voices from across Latin America through an open call and special invitations. This unique cultural event features a collective exhibition and a speakers’ program showcasing talented creators selected through a public call for entries. In addition, special guest artists join the program, contributing their experience, perspective, and creativity to this shared space.

Florencia Chidichimo
(Argentina)
Creator and director of artistic projects where dance, the spoken word, and audiovisual language intertwine in relation to Memory and Human Rights. She teaches Body Expression and Sensory Perception at UNA (National University of the Arts) and in various Early Childhood and Primary Education teacher training programs in Buenos Aires, where she also participates in institutional Memory and Human Rights projects. She trains actors and actresses in body work at EMAD (Metropolitan School of Dramatic Arts) and holds a specialization in Contemporary Trends in Dance (UNA).


Adri Vala
(México)
From a very young age, Adriana was deeply shaped by a challenging, traditionalist environment, which led her to develop a resilient and determined personality. Despite the difficulties, she found in dance a profound form of expression—something that not only connected her to her body but also to her deepest emotions, as well as a way to give voice to different issues and situations through movement.


Nisecuandoycomo
(Perú)
Dafne Pérez Vargas, known in the art world as Nisecuandoycomo, has built a career that weaves together her studies in Graphic Design at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola with a specialization in Contemporary Photography at Corriente Alterna. She is currently pursuing a degree in Painting at the National University of Fine Arts of Peru, a step she considers essential to her artistic evolution.


Andrea Bonilla
(México)
A graduate of the Escuela Veracruzana de Cine “Luis Buñuel,” she works in the areas of directing, screenwriting, and production. She has collaborated on various university fiction short films, including Isabel, part of the anthology Asensorial (2020), Yo Creo en el Ruido (Edgar Tiburcio, 2022), and Mi Reflejo (2022), which have been recognized at film festivals. Since 2022 she has worked in production with Terco Films and Ruleta Films. Mi Reflejo, her thesis short film, was written, directed, and produced by her, and has been awarded and screened in Mexico, Poland, England, and India. She is co-founder of FILMAGENS and participated in the first edition of “Ellas Hacen Cine” in Xalapa, Veracruz.


Ninfa María
(Chile)
Ninfa María (Santiago, 1985) is a psychologist by profession who also explores poetry, performance, and video art. She brings poetry into various staged formats, experimenting with visual, media-based, hypertext, and photographic formats, as well as with the body in performative actions. She has published poetry collections and contributed to anthologies in Chile and Latin America. She is co-founder of artistic collectives that carry out urban interventions and manage international poetic networks. In the audiovisual field, she has participated in various exhibitions and biennials in the region. She is currently producing videopoetry and video art works, incorporating sound design as part of her ongoing training.


Muriel Sago
(Argentina)
Muriel Sago, actress, voice-over artist, director, and digital creator from La Plata, trained at the National University of the Arts. She has worked on more than twenty plays, including Gaviota, presented at international festivals. Since 2013 she has researched body, space, and visual disability at the National University of La Plata. Since 2020 she has directed and created digital content; she won Hack Mafiz 2021 and was invited to the Málaga Film Festival. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including at MALBA and museums in Korea and Poland. In 2023 she took part in Talents BA and Berlinale Talents. She directs and acts in shorts and series for Netflix and Prime Video.


Valentina Velázquez de León
(México)
Valentina Velázquez de León (Mexico City, 2000) is a multimedia artist, graduate in visual arts from FAD UNAM, and currently pursuing a master’s in movement, digital art, and information technologies. Her work, centered on video and editorial formats, has been shown in group exhibitions such as Decir adiós (YoStudio, Monterrey, 2024), Bocavularia (Lolita Pank, Mexico City, 2024), and Códigos Amorosos (Inter-Tropical, Yucatán, 2023). Highlights include the performance action La cháchara ambulante (MedialabMx, Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Mexico City, 2023) and her solo show Espacios Necios (ElExpendio, Monterrey, 2022). She is part of the editorial team Impresos México.


Cutzi Jurhiata
(México)
Cutzi Jurhiata, born Omar Hamid Sánchez Martínez in 2001 in Uruapan, Michoacán, is a transdisciplinary composer, activist, and sound artist. She has received the 2023 Morelia Youth Merit Award and is a 2024 PECDA grantee. She was a Digital Bridge fellow (CMMAS and Sound & Music UK-Mexico) and has spoken at events such as the Latin American Meeting on Music and Technology. She has participated in international festivals including Universitat Welcome to Planet B (Austria) and FLASH ACT Mexico City, where she won with Ensayo Sobre la Lentitud. She currently works in cultural management in Mexico and studies Music and Artistic Technology at UNAM ENES Morelia.


Iliana Govea
(México)
A graduate of UNAM’s Faculty of Arts and Design, Iliana specialized in editorial design, exploring the book as an artistic medium. She has exhibited at the Alternative Book Fair and the International Congress The Ages of the Book. Her thesis project, Reimagining the Postbook, reflects her interest in critical design. She worked as an assistant at the National Library under Dr. Marina Garone Gravier. She has collaborated on projects involving AI, virtual/augmented reality, and the Internet of Things, and has worked in advertising with international brands. Her work merges book-objects, painting, and digital media, exploring the relationship between society, the past, and speculative media.

Klêment Gär Lhik
(Chile)
Grecia Domínguez Gálvez (Klêment Gär Lhik) holds a BA in Fine Arts from I.A.V., a Master’s in Criminalistics from C.L.E.U., and an MA in Visual Arts from P.A.D. UNAM. A specialist in forensic art and ethnoastronomy, she has delivered lectures at museums and scientific organizations. Her work and outreach have been published by UNAM, Ambulante, the Mexican Space Agency, among others. She has organized labs, colloquiums, and exhibitions, connecting specialists and communities. She complements her work with branding, marketing, and teaching at institutions such as BUAP and UNAM. She currently leads the Cholula branch of S.C.A. and works as a teacher and designer in the Mixteca Poblana region.


Brenda Ávalos
(México)
Interdisciplinary artist from León, Guanajuato, interested in the body’s mechanical and somatic processes and their link with chemistry, electronics, and biology. She holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Performing Arts, a diploma in Project Management, and is pursuing a Master’s in Strategic Communication. After seven years in industrial design, she won the 2021 Municipal Youth Award. She has participated in the Art and Science Festival El Aleph (Mexico City, 2024) and will be at Casa SnowApple in 2025. She is a university professor and founder of Interferencia Escénica, a space for interdisciplinary projects in art, science, and technology.


Luma Escalpelo
(México)
Luma Escalpelo is a trans non-binary artist, electronics engineer, designer, and programmer focused on open technologies, sound art, and interactive systems. Their practice merges art and engineering, creating devices and installations that promote technological autonomy and question the hegemonic use of technology. Founder of Escalpelo Studio, they develop durable and robust projects with a poetic and critical vision, embracing dissidence as a creative force. Their work not only teaches how to use technology, but how to inhabit it consciously—imagining worlds where knowledge is shared, not rented.

Ranchito
(México)
Transdisciplinary artist based in Mexico City, exploring gender myths, pop culture, street markets, and childhood through clothing, performance, installation, and painting. His maximalist aesthetic creates new identities from resilience, seeking tenderness and softness, embodied in drag, mutant, or transhuman avatars. He collaborates with dissident and creative communities to produce performative moments in public spaces, art, and fashion. A graduate in Communication (UNAM) and Visual Arts (La Esmeralda), he manages Fantasías Basurita in La Lagunilla, co-founded the gallery Tres Tristes Tigres, and has been an artist-in-residence at Casa Snowapple, MACG, and the Hello World Festival.


Alma Camelia
(México)
Participant of SOMA (educational program 2023-25) and graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design, UNAM. Winner of the "Prince Claus Seed Awards", 2024. She directs her first documentary feature film "Ley Yatzil". She participated in "Viaje como experiencia de viaje NYC", 2025 and in the International Summer school "Historias de resistencia", by the University of Kassel and Documenta Institut. Beneficiary of FONCA, 2020. She participated in the XIX Photography Biennial of the Centro de la Imagen, Mx, and the Moving Image Biennial, BIM, Arg. She was a participant in PISO 16, Lab. of Cultural Initiatives and is the founder of Lolita Pank, a platform for women artists and dissidents from the LGBtIQ+ community.
